You can gain race notoriety by:
* Destroying race enemies in sectors owned by that race.
* Trading with stations or ships owned by the race.
* Successfully completing missions given by members of the race.
You lose race notoriety by:
* Attacking or destroying ships or installations owned by the race.
* Attacking or destroying ships or installations neutral or friendly to the race in sectors owned by that race.
* Failing missions given by members of the race.
* Getting caught with illegal goods in race sectors.
* Scanning race ships without a police license for the current sector's race.
